Description
Usability upgrades:
*Polyethylene lined front material tray to protect cut material–I had issues with softer materials getting scarred with the oem setup. Fresh nylon panels installed.
*Mitutoyo linear scale digital read out.
*Linear rail bearing assembly on back-gauge to keep back gauge frame from canting off to one side or the other. After normal use, the backgauge had a tendency to cant/walk slightly out of track position and would interfere with detents in the front drop assembly–especially when shearing multiple narrow material cuts on one end of the shear or the other. The oem solution is to use only chain tension to keep the backgauge tracking properly. The addition of the linear rail assembly corrected this from happening and also gave a nice mounting point for the DRO encoder.
*LED lights inside hold down assembly frame/head. When attempting to shear a scribed line, it was near impossible with the shadows inside hold down frame. With the lights it makes it easier to see the scribe line when looking down between the hold down frame and main shear frame. I tried to capture this in a photo, but it is difficult with daylight as opposed to shop light.
*100″ squaring arm.
